Nikon Coolpix P80 Superzoom announced

Posted by Dimitrios Matsoulis on April 10, 2008

Nikon today announced new models. One of them is the Coolpix P80 superzoom. Let’s see what you get:

  • 10 megapixels resolution.
  • Massive 18X zoom, 27-486mm equivalent.
  • Manual controls.
  • 2.7 inch screen.
  • Electronic viewfinder.
  • In-camera D-Lighting picture fixing plus in-camera red-eye reduction.
  • Face-priority AF.
  • ISO sensitivity of 64-3200.
  • ISO sensitivity of 6400 with 5 megapixel resolution.
  • 6 frames/second.
  • 13 frames/second a 3 megapixel resolution.

I personally like the satisfactory wide angle capability of the camera, a point I have complained about in the post related to the Sony DSC-H10 today.

Price will be a relatively stiff $400, availability starts this month.
